Jojo Moyes set a new benchmark in storytelling with The Giver of Stars。 The Last Letter is not up to that benchmark。 The romance is engaging， however the plot is predictable。 The main character has interesting protagonist/antagonist characteristics。

A very cute 1960s / modern-day romance。 I loved the characters， I loved both love stories， and I loved the twist at the end。 I really just wish Ellie’s relationships had as much depth as Jennifer and Anthony’s。 Overall， I gave it 3。5 stars， rounded up。

I listened to this audio since all I do is drive anymore…I would give the story 3 1/2 stars and the narrator 5 stars。 Her voice was lovely and I was sad to move on to another book with a different voice。

I would give this book a 3。5 very close to 4 stars。 I think what changed it from 4 to 3。5 was how I felt at the end。 It’s not that I didn’t care for Ellie and Rory but I just felt more connected to the story of Jennifer and Anthony， therefore I wished it would have ended on them and not on Ellie。 Ellie and Rory were too sudden for me， I was very into it when the story was on Jennifer and Anthony but then it lost me with Ellie。 I overall love the character development and even with Ellie’s charac I would give this book a 3。5 very close to 4 stars。 I think what changed it from 4 to 3。5 was how I felt at the end。 It’s not that I didn’t care for Ellie and Rory but I just felt more connected to the story of Jennifer and Anthony， therefore I wished it would have ended on them and not on Ellie。 Ellie and Rory were too sudden for me， I was very into it when the story was on Jennifer and Anthony but then it lost me with Ellie。 I overall love the character development and even with Ellie’s character who I thought came out of left field and who at times was not relatable。 The surprise of her character in the book could be taken in a way has an interesting twist…to be surprised by the story… I just thought it came too late in the book， somehow I would have maybe liked Ellie’s character to come earlier in the story。 Maybe more of a then and now throughout the book。。 I don’t know。。 it just didn’t do it for me at the end。 Overall it was a sweet love story and it really kept my attention throughout it all。 Some parts more predictable than others but also some surprises along the way。 A close 4 star review。 。。。more

A journalist finds a stack of love letters in the archives of her newspaper and we are transported to the 1960s， and the tale of a love affair， as the memories of it are being rediscovered by a woman with amnesia from a car accident。 I struggled a first with the layout of the story， as it wasn’t always clear what happened before and after Jennifer’s accident。 However one the story stopped jumping between those two I found it to be a very enjoyable book and I couldn’t wait to find out how both Je A journalist finds a stack of love letters in the archives of her newspaper and we are transported to the 1960s， and the tale of a love affair， as the memories of it are being rediscovered by a woman with amnesia from a car accident。 I struggled a first with the layout of the story， as it wasn’t always clear what happened before and after Jennifer’s accident。 However one the story stopped jumping between those two I found it to be a very enjoyable book and I couldn’t wait to find out how both Jennifer and Ellie’s lives turned out。 To say that this book relies fairly significantly on the Miss-communication trope I was quite surprised to find that it didn’t bother me as JoJo Moyes wrote the story very well。 I would give this book 3。5 stars if I could。 。。。more

This book had a slow start， but keep at it and it gets much more exciting。 The storyline created some tension for me， as I found myself rooting for the characters to have a happy ending， while simultaneously being irritated that the love stories were all built on/having to do with affairs。 Either way， excited to check out the movie now！
